Dental implants are a reliable long-term solution to missing or damaged teeth

Do you want to
  • Improve your smile?
  • Replace missing teeth?
  • Upgrade your denture?
  • Improve Chewing?

Dental implants are a safe and effective treatment option when placed by a well trained dental surgeon.

Here at Adelaide Dental Solutions we can help you achieve one or all of these goals using the latest technology in dental implants.

What is a Dental Implant

Dental implants are used to replace the roots of teeth and can be used to support single or multiple replacement teeth, dental bridgework or a denture.  Dental implants are made from pure titanium and come in various shapes and sizes so they can be tailored to each patient.

Titanium is used because of its ability to directly fuse to bone in a process called Osseointegration.

Why choose Dental Implants?
  1. Aesthetics – Dental implants can provide natural and beautiful looking tooth replacements.
  2. Tooth preservation – Conventional bridgework replacement of teeth relies on the removal of healthy tooth structure, dental implants avoid this.
  3. Bone preservation – Biting forces transmitted to the jawbones via the roots of the dental implants help maintain bone levels that would otherwise be resorbed by the body. This resorption may cause changes to the shape of your face over time.
  4. Versatility – The versatile and modular nature of dental implants allows for a multitude of options/variations as your dental needs change over time.
  5. Reliability – Properly cared for, dental implants are a predictable and reliable treatment option.

A safe and effective procedure

Dental implants are safe and effective provided the surgery is done by a well trained & experienced dental surgeon.

The surgical procedure may be completed In one appointment or over the course of multiple appointments depending on the needs of the patient. At Adelaide Dental Solutions we use 3D scanning technology to perform Guided Implant Surgery, which is more accurate and predictable.

  1. Digital scans and radiographs are taken in order to accurately plan the surgery.
  2. A 3D printed guide is then produced to facilitate a high level of accuracy.
  3. The implant is placed in the desired position in the bone to ensure optimal function, health & aesthetics.
  4. Once we have determined the implant is sufficiently integrated into the bone and the soft tissues are healed we will plan for the final restoration (tooth)
  5. Finally we optimise the soft tissue (gums) and then we attach the tooth to the implant.
  6. Regular maintenance and review is crucial for the long term prognosis of the implant supported tooth.
