What suits you depends on the condition of the teeth you already have — so we start by looking properly. Dr Anthony Vinci will talk through what’s bothering you, examine what’s underneath, and set out the realistic options, including the simplest ones and the option of doing nothing at all. You’ll leave knowing what each approach involves, what it can and can’t change, and what it costs — in writing, before anything begins.

Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening or bleaching is a cosmetic dentistry process intended to improve the shade and/or colour of the teeth.

Bonding

Dental bonding is a cosmetic dentistry process which repairs tooth chipping, fills in gaps, improves size, alignment, shape or color of the teeth. Bonding uses various shades of composite resin material (a mixture of fine particles and resin), molded into the ideal tooth shape, cured and set with an ultraviolet blue light. This directly bonds the composite resin to the treated tooth surface (hence the term ‘bonding’), which is then polished to achieve an enamel-like shine.

Bridges / Caps / Crowns

Caps, crowns, porcelain crowns and bridges are custom made dental restorations to mimic and restore your natural tooth shape and function. Caps and crowns are used to protect or cosmetically improve individual teeth; bridges are used when there is a missing tooth or teeth involved. There are various materials, technologies and techniques in this dental process including gold, porcelain, zirconia, E-Max & LAVA. Cosmetic Dental Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells bonded to the front of the teeth. They can change the colour, shape and alignment of teeth that are worn, chipped or unevenly spaced. What they can achieve depends on the condition of the teeth underneath, and we’ll tell you honestly what is and isn’t realistic in your case.

White Fillings

Composite Resin fillings are a white, biocompatible and natural looking restorations for repairing cavities. They require minimal tooth preparation and are therefore very conservative. Composite fillings are indicated for treating all classes of cavities and replacing old silver fillings. For bigger cavities, a porcelain inlay or onlay may be recommended (Hand Made in an Australian Laboratory).

Dental implants are used to replace the roots of teeth and can be used to support single or multiple replacement teeth, dental bridgework or a denture. Dental implants are made from pure titanium and come in various shapes and sizes so they can be tailored to each patient. Titanium is used because of its biocompatibility and ability to directly fuse to bone in a process called Osseointegration.
Ultrasonic Cleaning

To improve the aesthetic and hygienic state of your smile, our OHT’s use Ultrasonic scaling technology to remove plaque, tartar, stains and bacteria from your teeth, even in areas below the gum line. The ultrasonic energy is strong enough to remove hard calculus and stains, but gentle enough to not harm your gums or teeth. This is a comfortable solution to remove unwanted stains to clean and restore the natural shine and color of your teeth.

Do I need an exam before treatment?
Yes. We always need to assess your teeth first to make sure we are providing you with the treatment best suited to you and your teeth.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With good home care and regular check-ups, porcelain veneers commonly last many years, but they are not permanent. Like any restoration they can chip, stain at the margins, or need replacing over time. We’ll talk through what affects longevity in your case, including grinding, which is a common cause of early failure.
Will whitening damage my teeth?
Professional whitening does not weaken tooth structure when it’s carried out after an examination and under supervision. Sensitivity during and after treatment is common and usually settles within a few days. Whitening also doesn’t change the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers, which is one of the reasons we assess first.
